The movement of the steam/smoke? gives great atmosphere and draws your eye to the job in hand. I’m not sure that the mono adds anything. I’d like to see the colour version.
The ‘classic’ farrier shot that has been well handled. I think it needs a bit more drama – a darker image overall?
An interesting and unusual shot. I would like to see a contrast boost and certain that this will make a great print
Needs to be more gritty, The composition of the image is fine, and I agree with the above it would make an excellent print (on the right paper of course)
Like the close up of the farrier at work, a bit more contrast to make for a more powerful image.
I think with more grit this is a great image. Works well as mono. Love the steam.
Chris – it’s not steam but burning hoof🐴🥴
smoke?
Great timing – I have tried loads of time to capture similar images when our horses are being shod – but never as good or like this – mono works really well – I can almost smell the burning hoof!
Well taken, shows not only the process involved, but conveys both the strength and the skill of the Farrier hands. A little more contrast would help.
