I’ve always been fascinated by these old metal signs. I think that the gritty monochrome treatment really works and sets the scene that this is from times long gone.
I like this image, gritty with lots to interest the viewer. I especially like the roof sections and chimneys to give it ‘place’. Perhaps just darken down the attic room a bit?
Love the subject matter. There is a similar set up at the back of Botany Bay. I would like to see a colour version where I expect the muted colours and the rust would give it a totally different look.

The high contrast works to a certain extent but makes it tricky to read some of the signs, but I suppose it’s not meant to be a ‘record’ photo.

I would like to see a comparison between the colour and mono versions. As it is I like it, very gritty.
