The original date for Meresand Wood was cancelled due to the rain days. We met a week later and the weather was kind and warm. 

Lunch in the cafe at the new community tables was the start of the day. The wood was in full leaf and now the wooded paths are fully open after bird flu restrictions. 

The beautiful trees and the small details of ferns stood by the path as we walked.  Visiting the hides giving us a view the  lake which was busy with a variety of birds, geese, mallards, tufted ducks and  egret, to name but a few. 

The day wouldn’t be complete without a final visit to the cafe for cake and a cuppa.
